Acupressure * Dry Needling * Meridian Treatment

Dry needling is a treatment that healthcare providers use for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. With this technique, a provider inserts thin needles into or near your trigger points. This helps relieve pain and improve your range of motion. When dry needling is applied to your muscles and tissues, it can decrease tightness, increase blood flow and reduce local and referred pain. Providers use solid needles that don’t contain any kind of medication. This is why the technique is called “dry.” Nothing is injected into your body.

Some people feel improvement in their pain and mobility almost immediately after a dry needling session. For others, it takes more than one session.

You may also feel discomfort during the needling. Sometimes, people don’t feel the needle going in because it’s so small, but other times, people will feel a prick. When the needle is in the trigger point, it can be painful and cause a twitch response. Afterward, you may feel tightness or soreness near the insertion site, but it’s important to keep moving and stretching.

Acupressure sessions can be done with laser, microcurrent, vibration, or metal retractor probes on the same points as traditional acupuncture.

Cold Laser Treatment

During a treatment regimen, a small low-level laser therapy device emitting laser beam or visible nonthermal lasers is placed over the target area. The low levels of light penetrate the tissue without heating or damaging the skin.

As a non-invasive, low-intensity therapy procedure, LLLT can be performed at an outpatient clinic, providing a distinct advantage over traditional laser surgery. There is no recovery time and no side effects, which makes LLLT an attractive treatment option for a variety of conditions.

Cold lasers can stimulate all types of cells, including muscle, ligaments, nerves and cartilage. This stimulation of light energy works similar to photosynthesis in plants, as it is absorbed and interacts with light-sensitive components in the body’s cells. The treatment promotes the body’s natural healing — which may have been impeded through the tissue damage — by stimulating mitochondria and encouraging the cells to produce more ATP for healing.

Our Cold Laser has 22 FDA clearances and is approved for pain relief. During a treatment a small low-level laser therapy device is placed over the target area. A red beam of light is visible during treatment and different machine settings are used to treat various conditions including: neck and back pain, muscle spasm, disc inflammation and injuries, nerve conditions and more. Sessions are 15-30 minutes on average.

StemWave Therapy

It is commonly used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, especially those involving soft tissue and chronic pain. It has up to 90% SATISFACTION RATES.

Here are some common conditions that radial shockwave can help with: Plantar Fasciitis, Hip Bursitis, Rotator Cuff Tendinitis, Achilles Tendinitis, Patellar Tendinitis, Tennis & Golfer's Elbow, Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, Muscle Strains and Sprains. Effectiveness also shown in: Chronic muscle pain associated with trigger points, Pain in the neck (cervical spine) or lower back (lumbar spine), often due to muscle tightness or disc problems, Joint Pain, Scar Tissue Treatment & more.

Pain Reduction: By stimulating healing and reducing inflammation.

Improved Mobility: Through tissue regeneration and enhanced circulation.

Non-invasive: non-surgical option for treating pain, applied topically with gel and pulsation type of feeling to tolerance.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a form of traditional medicine that originated in China and West Asia. People have practiced this method for thousands of years.

A provider places cups on your back, stomach, arms, legs or other parts of your body. A vacuum or suction force inside the cup pulls your skin upward; and pulling suction is used to move pressure through the skin layers as they are moved in different angles to promote healing.  This is another noninvasive way to access acupuncture points for all the benefits without needles; 15-30 minute session. Since this suction pulls up the skin and breaks capillaries, or blood vessels, under the skin, creating the bruise-like effect. The body then responds to this by sending increased blood flow there to promote healing.

Cupping shouldn’t cause pain, though you may experience some skin tightness during the procedure. After cupping therapy, you may feel bruised and slightly sore, but you shouldn’t have severe discomfort.

This session is for those seeking pain relief, help with feelings of stiffness, heaviness, skin congestion, lymphedema, inflammation, relaxation of muscle stiffness and tightness. Special cups are  placed on your skin and pulling suction is used to move pressure through the skin layers as they are moved in different angles to promote healing.  This is another noninvasive way to access acupuncture points for all the benefits without needles; 15-30 minute session

Pelvic Floor * Post-partum * Emsella

Emsella utilizes High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to stimulate deep pelvic floor muscles and restore neuromuscular control. A single Emsella session brings thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, which are extremely important in muscle re-education of incontinent patients. All this is done without any effort on your part and without getting undressed. Scientific research shows that 95% of treated patients have reported significant improvement in the quality of life.

The treatment is 28 minutes per session on the machine, with sessions separated by at least 2 days.

Traction Treatment

Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed manually or mechanically.

Spinal traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions.

Spinal traction stretches the spine to take pressure off compressed discs. This helps align the spine and soft tissues and improves the body’s ability to heal itself.

In mechanical spinal traction, you will lie on a table that has special tools to stretch the spine. A physical belt like brace or like harness will attach around the spinal joint and a pulley system or air chamber mechanism is used to mechanically stretch the joint space and relieve pressure.

Spinal traction is known to cause muscle spasms. Most doctors are prepared for this to happen during or after therapy. Some people only need spinal traction for a short period of time. Others need it throughout their lives to maintain healthy movement and live life without restrictions.

Microcurrent * Frequency Specific Microcurrent

This treatment can be used for pain management, muscle conditions, nerve issues, brain health, acupuncture point treatment and more. Technology used can be applied to the skin with a medical grade skin patch for 20-40 minute sessions or it can be applied with a portable handheld unit the size of a writing pen in only a few minutes. Microamperage current is the application of the same kind of current your body produces on its own within each cell. This is current in millionths of an amp. It is very small; there is not enough current to stimulate sensory nerves so the current flow cannot be felt.

Ultrasound Treatment

Ultrasound is a noninvasive treatment in which sound waves are used to penetrate soft tissues, increasing blood flow. This can help relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote tissue healing. This type of therapy relies on mechanical vibrations to penetrate the soft tissues. This creates cavitation, tiny gas bubbles that quickly expand/contract and are thought to reduce swelling and inflammation. Mechanical ultrasound is also believed to help break down scar tissue and deposits.

Your therapist will then select a surface area to work on based on your specific condition and apply a gel either to the transducer head, the wand that emits the sound waves, or to your skin. This helps distribute the sound wave energy and prevents the transducer from getting too hot.8

During your ultrasound treatment, your therapist will continually move the transducer head over and around the selected area to deliver the sound waves where needed.  Treatments may last for five to 10 minutes, but this can vary depending on your needs.

Ionic Detox Foot Bath

Technology of this system is widely used to increase cellular energy by using ionic exchange. Your feet have around 2000 of the largest pores in your body and are submerged in a warm water footbath for this 15-30 minute session. Once your feet are in the mineral treated water the machine is set and positive and negative ions begin flowing throughout your body.  The ions can attach themselves to the toxins or impurities and then are flushed out through the feet into the water. This therapy has shown benefits of clearing heat from the body with chinese acupuncture like results. Some clients use this therapy monthly as a health maintenance and others seeking support from a diagnosis add this to their care plan weekly depending on their individual needs.

Electric Stimulation Treatment

Electrical muscle stimulation, also known as “e-stim,” is a common treatment that physical therapists use to rehabilitate a soft tissue injury. Electrical stimulation is an effective form of therapy that can help provide you with pain relief and accelerate your recovery process.

E-stim treatment is done by your therapist placing electrode pads on your skin. These pads are attached to a device that generates electrical impulses to stimulate the contraction of your skeletal muscles. creates continuous electric impulses to stimulate repetitive contraction and relaxation of your muscles to achieve the required results. Another form of E-stim therapy called transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) can be used to work on the nerves in your body.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation works by blocking or managing pain signals to your brain. This is done by issuing electric stimulation at varying wavelengths for different purposes, such as circulation and relaxation.
